Operations

Licensed (310T) Mechanic

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Proactively and regularly manages highway vehicles (trucks & trailers) and yard vehicles & equipment (forklifts, tractors, trailers, motorised vehicles & equipment, etc). 
  • Regularly inspects, repairs, and maintains the engine, hydraulic, transmission, suspension, brake, axles, mechanical, and electrical systems etc. for highway (trucks & trailers) and yard (forklift, tractors, trailers, motorised vehicle & equipment, etc). 
  • Identifies deficiencies, schedules repairs, and conducts repairs, or works with outside specialists. 
  • Inspects and co-ordinates with shipping, the plant and yard to ensure staff are operating the vehicles correctly, and are bringing in the vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance. 
  • Documents a regular schedule, checklist, and repair work, to maximise asset value and actively seeks to reduce and optimise vehicle costs. 
  • Ensures vehicles do not deteriorate, by addressing small issues before they inflate and spread; maximising asset value, and avoiding fines, injuries, and avoidable expenses.

Experience

  • Possess a valid and current 310T Truck and Coach license.
  • High school or vocational school or apprenticeship courses
  • Intermediate computer skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
